Measuring meaning
“I can say my measurement of my success is around how much meaning I’ve made,” ex-Apple rising star Tom Williams of Givemeaning.com in the Toronto Globe and Mail. From Gift Hub. It’s one answer to how you measure soft things. The perception of meaning.

The perception of meaning is a nice phrase. Do you get that yourself from economics?

I’ve long dreamt of a complex score-card of our project’s impacts but at least for now am content to let my heart be the measuring stick. Sounds cheesy but it’s true. Going with one’s “gut” has gotten a bad rap (thanks to dubya) but it’s an interesting thing to contemplate a bunch of serious “meaning makers” sitting around and judging a grant or path of action by meditating and then discussing how it makes them feel.
Keep in mind, I’m writing this while on a blissed-out vacation at my Mother’s house where I’m warm and cozy and perhaps regressing into childhood. Disclaimer noted.
